J. Bruce Redmon, M.D. - Medical Director
Since 1997, Dr. Redmon has served as ReproTech, Ltd.’s Medical Director. Dr. Redmon received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown College and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Redmon completed his Residency and his Fellow program in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Department of Medicine, University of Minnesota Medical School.
Dr. Redmon has served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Minnesota and is currently serving as an Associate Professor, Department of Medicine and Urologic Surgery at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Redmon's current specialty certification is in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and has numerous publications in his areas of specialty certification. He is an active member of the American Association of Tissue Banks.
W. Brent Hazelrigg, MS - President and CEO
Brent is a partner in ReproTech and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Brent has more than 30 years of human sperm and embryo cryopreservation experience and two degrees from the University of Missouri, including a Master of Science in Reproductive Biology. Brent completed his graduate research with an innovative study of freezing and thawing techniques for embryos.
Prior to joining ReproTech in 2004, Brent served as the Division Chief Operating Officer and on the Board of Directors of the Genetics & IVF Institute, a fully integrated, comprehensive fertility and genetics services company. Brent is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, American Association of Bioanalysts, International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories and the American Association of Tissue Banks where he currently serves on the Finance and Membership committees. Brent has previously served as Chair of the Reproductive Council, on the Board of Governors and on the following American Association of Tissue Banks committees; Accreditation, Standards, Ethics/Bylaws and Programs. Brent is also a partner in Frank/Hazelrigg Cattle Company LLC, a family owned and operated beef genetics business in Missouri. In his spare time, he is a coach with the Columbia Wrestling Club, a youth wrestling club in central Missouri. He also serves on the boards of the Missouri Wrestling Foundation and Lizzy’s Walk of Faith Foundation.
Joy A. Bader, BS - Senior Vice President of Business Development and Administration
Joy serves as ReproTech's Senior Vice President of Business Development and Administration. Joy holds a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Misericordia University in Pennsylvania. After teaching for a few years, Joy pursued a business path that led to customer service management in the telecom and cryobanking industries.
Joy came to ReproTech in 2009 with more than six years of experience in the cryobank and fertility service industry which included senior management positions in sperm banking, donor sperm and donor egg programs. Joy is currently responsible for business development, marketing, administration and the operations of ReproTech’s Fertility Preservation Network and Auto Transfer Management programs. In her spare time, Joy enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with family.
Amy Erickson Hagen, MS, TS (ABB)- Vice President of Special Projects and Quality Assurance
Amy received her Master of Science in Reproductive Physiology from Colorado State University and Bachelor of Science in Animal and Range Science from North Dakota State University. Amy joined ReproTech in 2015 and brings with her over 12 years of project management and regulatory compliance experience in the reproductive industry. Prior to joining ReproTech, Amy served as Corporate Compliance Officer at Genetics & IVF Institute which includes a sperm bank, egg bank and infertility practice where she created and implemented policies, procedures and audit processes to meet regulatory requirements and build robust quality systems. Her past experience ranges from placental IUGR research, laboratory technician at an IVF clinic to cryobank manager and technical director.
Amy has advocated for sperm banking prior to cancer treatment through partnerships with Fertile Hope and LIVESTRONG to offer a national financial aid program for cancer patients to bank sperm and a mail-in sperm banking kit that was recognized in the Wall Street Journal. She brings clinical infertility, third party reproduction processing and regulation, as well as project management knowledge to ReproTech. Amy is a member of the American Association of Tissue Banks, where she currently serves on the Programs Committee. Amy also holds membership in the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories and RESOLVE, as well as the American Board of Bioanalysts, where she has received the distinguished level of Technical Supervisor. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children watching sporting events and running around to the kids’ activities.
Danika L. Batastini, BS - Vice President of Operations
Danika serves as the Vice President of Operations and has been with ReproTech since 2007. Danika graduated from the University of Nevada at Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education/Health Ecology. Danika developed her customer service and management skills while owning and managing two Curves for Women fitness centers. Danika oversees all ReproTech site operations. and is a member of the American Association of Tissue Banks. Danika is a member of the American Association of Bioanalysts and the Northern California Association of Reproductive Biologists. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and volunteering.
Lea H. Wilcox, BA - Fertility Preservation Network Manager
Lea earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Prior to ReproTech, Lea worked with nonprofit organizations and has experience in grant writing, fundraising, marketing and social media. At ReproTech, Lea is responsible for overseeing quality assurance of the Fertility Preservation Network by ensuring that our members have accurate information and keep current with protocols.
Lea continues to work with various nonprofit organizations by volunteering and attending fundraising events. She especially enjoys working with a local dog rescue group where she adopted one of her two dogs. Lea travels frequently with her husband and enjoys walking the dogs and gardening.
Keri J. Hazelrigg, BS - Corporate Secretary\Treasurer, Member of Board of Directors
Keri is a partner in ReproTech and serves as its Corporate Secretary\Treasurer. Keri holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri. Keri has 15 years of customer service supervising experience. She joined ReproTech in 2004. Keri also remains active with the family managed business, Frank\Hazelrigg Cattle Company LLC., as well as managing the active schedule for the two younger Hazelriggs (4-H, dance, Girl Scouts, gymnastics, and wrestling).
Russell C. Bierbaum, MST - Founder
Russ co-founded ReproTech, Ltd. in 1990, and retired as its President in 2013. Russ has more than 40 years of experience in the cryobanking industry beginning in the early 1970's with the world’s first commercial sperm bank and later serving for many years as its Technical Director. Russ has served as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the Reproductive Council and was a member of the Board of Governors of the American Association of Tissue Banks. Russ has also been a member of many of their committees including Accreditation, Program, Finance and Public Relations, and currently is serving again on the Finance committee. In his role as Vice-Chairperson of the AATB Reproductive Council, Russ was active in drafting revisions to the AATB Standards to ensure compliance with FDA Regulations. Russ holds degrees from Minnesota State University, Mankato and the University of North Dakota. Prior to working in the cryobanking industry, he taught Physical Science and Chemistry in the MN public schools. An avid MN Gopher fan, he enjoys college football and basketball and spending time Up North fishing, reading, doing projects or just relaxing.
Rebecca J. Bierbaum, BS - Founder
Becky is one of ReproTech's co-founders, having helped start RTL in 1990. She has more than 25 years of experience in the cryobanking industry having served as the Associate Director of the world’s first commercial sperm bank for 20 years. With a BS Degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, her early career days were spent in the education field having taught elementary education at several MN schools. Besides cheering on the MN Gophers, Becky swims most days at the local Y and is a mystery reader and movie buff.
